Christmas lighting · Northern Michigan

Christmas light installation in Northern Michigan

We design it, hang it, fix it, take it down and store it — in Gaylord, Petoskey, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Bellaire, Elk Rapids, Traverse City and on the Torch, Walloon and Lake Charlevoix shoreline.

Booking closes October 15

Install dates are filled in the order deposits come in, and we order inventory against confirmed bookings only — so the season closes when it closes.

What you get

You never touch a ladder, a strand or a storage bin.

This is not a product you buy and re-hang every year. Lynex owns the lights, cuts them to your roofline, and takes them away in January. Every package below includes all four of these.

We supply everything

Commercial-grade C9 bulbs on runs custom-cut to your roofline. You buy nothing, own nothing and store nothing. There is no box in your garage in February.

Design and install

We measure your roofline from satellite imagery, confirm it on site, and design the run before anything goes up. You never climb a ladder or untangle a strand.

Repairs within 48 hours

If a section goes out mid-season, we come back and fix it within 48 hours. It is part of the job, not a service call you pay for.

Takedown and storage

We take the system down in January and store all of it through the off-season. Next winter it comes back out already cut to your house.

Pricing

What christmas light installation costs here.

Roofline length is what drives the price, so these are starting points rather than fixed packages. We measure your roofline from satellite imagery, quote a real number, and confirm it on site before anything is booked.

Roofline

From$750

Single story, up to 100 linear feet

The front-facing roofline of a single-story home, cut to length and run clean along the eave. The package most homes start from.

Roofline Plus

From$1,400

Up to 200 feet, peaks and dormers

Longer runs with the height and angles that make a house read from the road — gable peaks, dormers and second-story eaves.

Full property

From$2,400

Multi-story, trees, wreaths, walkways

The whole envelope. Multi-story rooflines, wrapped trees, wreaths and walkway lighting designed as one scheme.

Minimum job $750. What moves a quote is the length of your roofline, how many stories it climbs, how many peaks and dormers it has, and how much of the property you want lit. We measure it, give you one fixed number, and it does not move after that. Commercial christmas lighting for storefronts is quoted the same way.

How it works

Four steps, and only one of them is yours.

01

Quote

Send us the address. We measure your roofline from satellite imagery and come back with a real number, then confirm it on site before anything is final.

02

Deposit

Fifty percent books the job. That deposit locks your install date and your quoted price, and it is what buys your bulbs and cut runs.

03

Install

We install between November 1 and December 10. You do not need to be home. The balance is due on install day.

04

Takedown

We pull everything down between January 5 and January 31 and take it with us. Storage is included, so it is ready to go again next season.

Tell us the address. We will do the measuring.

You do not need to count feet or climb anything. Send the address and a rough idea of what you want lit, and we come back with a real number — usually the same day.

The roofline

We already work on this edge of your house.

Christmas lights hang off the soffit and fascia — the same run we soft wash every summer. We know where the clips hold, where the gutter line sits and which houses have a fascia you cannot put weight on, because we have already been up there.

This is a soft wash we did on that exact surface. It is our first season hanging lights, and it is not our first season on these rooflines.

Where we install

Christmas light installation across northern Michigan.

We install in Gaylord, where we are based, and run north and west through Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Boyne City and Charlevoix. To the south and west we cover Bellaire, Elk Rapids and Traverse City.

A good share of this work is lakefront. We light shoreline properties on Torch Lake, Walloon Lake and Lake Charlevoix — often for owners who are not up here in December and want the place lit anyway. You do not have to be home for the install or the takedown.

Installs run November 1 through December 10, which is a five-week window for the whole region. That is the real reason booking closes October 15: past that point the calendar and the inventory are both committed. If you are just outside these towns, call and ask — we would rather tell you honestly than drive past you.

Holiday lighting is seasonal work layered on top of what we do the rest of the year: house washing, window cleaning, gutter cleaning and roof soft washing. Plenty of customers have us clean the gutters in October and hang lights off the same roofline in November. See everything we clean or the Lynex Protection Plan.

Proof

The same crew, already working on these houses.

These are Google reviews of our exterior cleaning work — this is our first season offering christmas lighting, so we are not going to pretend otherwise. Same people, same trucks, same standard.

Questions

What people ask before they book.

How much does christmas light installation cost?

Most single-story rooflines start around $750, which is also our minimum job. A home with peaks and dormers typically starts around $1,400, and a full property with trees and walkways around $2,400. What moves a quote inside that range is the length of your roofline, how many stories it climbs, how many peaks and dormers it has, and how much of the property you want lit. We measure it and give you a fixed number before you commit to anything.

Who supplies the lights?

We do. Every job uses commercial-grade C9 bulbs on runs cut to your roofline, and they belong to us, not you. You are not buying a product, storing it, or replacing it in three years when half the strand fails. That is the actual service.

What happens if a bulb or a section goes out mid-season?

Call us and we repair it within 48 hours at no extra charge. Repairs are included in every package for the whole season.

When do you take the lights down?

Between January 5 and January 31. Takedown is included in the price and so is off-season storage — we take the entire system with us and keep it until next winter.

Will this damage my roof or gutters?

No. Everything hangs from clips sized to your shingle edge and gutter lip — nothing is nailed, screwed, stapled or glued into the roof. When we take the system down in January, there is nothing left behind and no holes to patch.

How far out do you book, and when is the cutoff?

Booking closes October 15 and installs run November 1 through December 10. Dates are filled in the order deposits come in, so the earlier you book the more say you have in your install week. We order inventory against confirmed bookings, so once the season is committed we cannot add jobs.

Is the deposit refundable?

Fifty percent is due at booking and it is refundable in full through October 1. After October 1 it is non-refundable, because that is the point where the deposit has been spent on your bulbs and custom-cut runs. The balance is due on install day.

Which towns do you install in?

Gaylord, Petoskey, Boyne City, Charlevoix, Harbor Springs, Bellaire, Elk Rapids and Traverse City, plus shoreline properties on Torch Lake, Walloon Lake and Lake Charlevoix. If you are just outside that list, call and ask — we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you this season.
